Appeal for bells to ring again going like clappers

Where once they heralded Sunday services, weddings and funerals in the parish and sounded a unique musical backdrop to village life in Tong in Bradford, the 18th century bells fell silent in the 1960s.

But thanks to a grant, which should fund the final leg of a restoration project spanning several years, it is hoped the bells will again be ringing out in time for Christmas this year.
